Consumption profiles based on smart-meter data.
Data-driven energy management with no upfront metering investment
OptiWatt is a software-supported energy management concept under development at GHS. It aims to turn existing smart-meter and utility data into actionable recommendations with quantified financial implications.
The initial diagnostic assessment requires no new metering equipment.
Combined analysis of multiple facilities, sites, or points of delivery (PODs).
The same consumption can produce different results at different times
OptiWatt examines both how much energy an organization uses and when it uses it. Hungarian electricity prices and grid carbon intensity vary by hour. Shifting flexible consumption can therefore have measurable effects on costs and emissions.
The live monitor combines Electricity Maps carbon data with ENTSO-E Hungarian day-ahead prices to identify more favorable and less favorable consumption windows.
Price and carbon signals in one view
The displayed price is the Hungarian day-ahead wholesale energy price. It is not an end-user electricity tariff. Detailed charts are available on the full monitor.
Municipalities, public institutions, and multisite organizations
OptiWatt is designed for organizations with multiple consumption points, varied building types, exposure to changing energy prices, and limited internal energy management resources. Typical users include schools, preschools, sports facilities, public offices, cultural institutions, street-lighting portfolios, and multisite businesses.
Hidden costs and avoidable consumption
- Unnecessary overnight, weekend, or holiday consumption;
- Excess contracted capacity;
- Reactive energy charges;
- Inefficient contract and tariff structures;
- Poorly timed or insufficiently assessed investments.
Decision support with quantified financial impacts
- Baseline modeling and weather normalization;
- Investment scenarios for solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), building renovation, and mechanical systems;
- NPV, IRR, ROI, and payback metrics.
- Management dashboard and PDF reporting;
- A measurement framework aligned with EKR and IPMVP requirements.
From consumption data to savings opportunities
Distribution system operator (DSO) portals, CSV/API interfaces, smart-meter data, and contract records.
Treatment of missing and erroneous observations; a structured time-series database.
Baseline analysis, nonintrusive load monitoring (NILM), anomaly detection, and identification of avoidable consumption.
Financially quantified recommendations, investment priorities, and reporting.
Product concept and pilot framework
OptiWatt is currently a GHS concept under development. It is presented as an energy decision-support solution for pilots, needs assessment, and collaborative development, rather than as a finished commercial software product.
The objective is independent energy and financial decision support based on existing consumption data. Hardware and solar equipment sales are outside that objective.
